After five successful editions of Culture Clash, the intercultural dance week and youth exchange Culture Clash will take place again this year in Amsterdam. Culture Clash Impact is organized by the Build Your Dream foundation, the foundation of dancer, choreographer, teacher and entrepreneur Anthony Pinas, in collaboration with the European subsidy program Erasmus + and the Norma fund.

Culture Clash Impact
From 20 till 30 October 2023, 48 dancers (including 8 coaches) from 8 different countries will come together to train for the Culture Clash theater show at Podium Mozaïek 29 October 2023. Our host is Juvat Westendorp, and the creative director for the show is Giovanni van Gom.

Anthony is happy that he can organize Culture Clash again. “Diversity, culture, togetherness and inclusion are the core concepts of Culture Clash. Because the dance groups are mixed and the coaches work with dancers from different countries, Culture Clash ensures that the dancers get to know and connect with each other by sharing their passion. Dance is a universal language and can bring people from different cultures closer together. We are happy that we can vibe together again this year and learn from each other!”

Culture Clash theater show

With the new groups, the coaches each create a choreography based on this year’s theme. The creative director Giovanni, together with the coaches, will combine these choreographies into a dance performance in which, in addition to the theme, the clash of cultures is the common thread. The support act includes performances by young dancers from OnPoint Dancelab and artists from the BYD music studio.

Host Juvat Westendorp

None other than Juvat Westendorp will host Culture Clash again this year. Juvat is originally a modern & hip-hop teacher and dancer and B-boy and is now a talented and in-demand actor. He is excited about the project and is hosting Culture Clash for the fifth time. During the Culture Clash week, Juvat will follow the dancers closely and present the theater show.
